Abiba Sokoto

Abiba is a multidisciplinary artist who challenges the lack of diversity in Western-dominated electronic music, aiming to create a free space of expression on the dancefloor. Living in-between various cultural influences since early childhood, she is fascinated by sound and movement, drawing inspiration from jazz, soul and funk and their abundant histories of

communal celebration, resistance and charity. Her musical selection relies heavy in syncopation, polyrhythm, intricate basslines and meaningful vocals, aiming to share tracks that move her spirit and the audience’s body.

SIEM

Beyond the dance floor, SIEM’s vision has always reached deeper—toward music’s emotional and spiritual dimensions. This approach led him to co-found Super-Sonic Jazz, a collective, label, and festival that has become a vital hub for a new generation of jazz-inspired musicians and listeners in the Netherlands, connected to scenes in London, Berlin, Chicago, and LA. After stepping back from the organisation to focus on writing and producing for a little while, SIEM returned with renewed creative purpose. He now hosts and programs the monthly Super-Sonic Jam sessions at SkateCafé. These nights have become a key meeting point for Amsterdam’s improvisation scene—where musicians, DJs, and audiences come together in a shared groove, which is a returning ethos for SIEM.
