Mixed Feelings | Nobunaga

A special guest-mix series where DJs are invited to create a soundtrack for tomorrow's days. Next up: Enschede-based DJ extraordinaire Nobunaga.

Every Mixed Feelings podcast is accompanied by a few questions that provide a little insight to the DJ and the mix they've prepared for us and for you.

Which feelings do we find bottled in this mix?

How Mati Klarwein would paint his creation/art/ideas/expressions on canvas.

What message does the music you play convey?

That the music is not only the message, artwork from a cover can give you a feeling too. That's what I felt with Miles Davis' Bitches Brew cover. The artwork that Mati Klarwein did for him was so mind blowing. I was intrigued & inspired. Thats why I made my selection of only albums that had cover art I liked that Mati did for the artists.

How is the mix reflecting your current music taste?

Good music is good music, so when u hear this mix its all mixed with different genres.

Who should release a new album/EP already?

My wish would be: Release the music that Miles, MJ, Prince & James Brown recorded on tapes/their studio sessions or what ever, I know its out there! Hopefully one day the people that own their music would give us that light what we need.

If the mix would be a soundtrack, what (kind of) movie/video/audio-visual content would support it best?

A painting/art movie.

Do the research of covers that u like, there are so many dope album covers, maybe there is a dope story behind it that can inspire u. Music is art & art is music, it's EXTRAORDINARY.
