Mista Monk is a Melbourne-based MC & producer with Zimbabwean and Australian roots. With this mixed DNA he's always been conscious of the different worlds and cultural crossroads. A great example of that knowledge being used is when he co-founded the, aptly titled, live hiphop band Culture Connect in the early 2000s. Currently Monk is an active performing member of the afro-jazz group Black Jesus Experience, who frequently toured with the original Ethio-jazz pioneer Mulatu Astatke and just released an album with him in 2020 called To Know Without Knowing.

Mista Monk & Inkswel are both artists who are well-traveled and have lived on multiple continents, which is evident not just in the audible lyrics but in the universal feel throughout the album as well.
