Kay Slice is a Ghanaian-rooted, Rotterdam-based artist who fuses West African rhythms, afrobeats, highlife, jazzy grooves, and poetic hip hop into an electrifying sound he calls “diaspora highlife.” A skilled storyteller, rapper, and multi-instrumentalist, he brings the balafon and saxophone into his performances, which have lit up stages from North Sea Jazz to Noorderslag, Accra to Jakarta. Winner of the Audience Prize at the Dutch Jazz Awards and named Best Live Act 2024, Kay’s music reflects his mission to connect Africa and the diaspora, weaving his personal journey into a vibrant, soul-liberating experience.
