Mixed Feelings | Mab'ish

A special guest-mix series where DJs are invited to create a soundtrack for tomorrow's days. Next up: A Broken Beat flavored mix cooked up for us by Parisian heavy-hitter Mab'ish.

Every Mixed Feelings podcast is accompanied by a few questions that provide a little insight into the DJ and the mix they've prepared for us and for you.

Which feelings do we find bottled in this mix?

Music is always about love!

Like Queen Mab from Romeo and Juliet of Shakespeare (that's where my artist name comes from), I try to put ideas of love in people's heads and dreams with this mix.

And as Maya Angelou says at the beginning of the mix, "you have to have courage to love somebody"!

What message does the music you play convey?

This mix is only Broken Beat vibz: for me it's the best dancing music, to feel connected with the ground and the cosmos, the up and down, and syncoped energy. It's a good parallel of life basically.

I love to bring energy to elevate the soul.

How is the mix reflecting your current music taste?

I love to play different kind of music, hiphop, house, etc....but I need to reconnect with my body at this moment. I was heavily in the mood for making a Broken Beat mix for me and to share this with all the dancers out there! I need to share energy and good vibrations.

I am in love with the UK scene, and it's very important for me to highlight all these amazing producers who inspire me a great deal.

Who should release a new album/EP already?

What's magical about music?

Music can take you into so many feelings, it's crazy!

And it can really change your mood: the power of the music is so deep (as the power of the dance). Music and dance have really changed my life, I'm very grateful to have this in life everyday.

What is your main source for finding new music?

Various sources ranging from internet's algorhytms , to social media and to Discogs.

If the mix would be a soundtrack, what (kind of) movie/video/audio-visual content would support it best?

A video with dancers from all over the world definitively

Thank you for the invitation! I really enjoyed contributing to Mixed Feelings.

Please dance to this mix, I hope it can give you energy and good vibes.

It's always about time, space, body and soul!
