The lockdown has been over for a few months now and I think that many of the feelings bottled in this mix are linked to the joy this brings. Let's say: Positivity, a craving for adventure, and open-mindedness. Good vibes!
What message does the music you play convey?
Close your eyes, stop thinking, feel the music, bounce your head, and dance!
How is the mix reflecting your current music taste?
The past few months I have been rediscovering funk and also been diving deep into broken beat. I have always been playing different types and genres of music in my DJ sets, but still, always with some kind of housey vibe. When younger I was a fanatic drum player who loved funk music. But for some never reason I never really brought funk into my DJ sets. I am trying to mix this into my sets now, bringing my old me and new me together. And I think it works pretty well!
Who should release a new album/EP already?
I have been listening to a lot to Peven Everett lately. His discography is already quite impressive, but a new album would always be in place!
What's magical about music?
Percussion, rhythm, and groove!
What is your main source for finding new music?
Bandcamp, Social Media, Discogs.
If the mix would be a soundtrack, what (kind of) movie/video/audio-visual content would support it best?
I hope it would be the soundtrack of a group of people celebrating life.
