Mixed Feelings | Romski

A special guest-mix series where DJs are invited to create a soundtrack for tomorrow's days. Next up: Romski, a b-boy and DJ from Slovakia, and a key member of RudeBoys Radio. Known for high-energy solo sets packed with Baile Funk, Miami Bass, and Jersey club sounds, Romski also expands his sonic palette by collaborating with Slovak musicians, singers, and rappers to create unique mashups. His mixtape project, "Romski’s Ride", typically features back-to-back sessions with DJs from Slovakia and the Czech Republic. But this time, Romski is riding solo. So buckle up, let’s ride.

Every Mixed Feelings podcast is accompanied by a few questions that provide a little insight into the DJ and the mix they've prepared for us and for you.

Which feelings do we find bottled in this mix?

With this mix, I wanted to showcase my personality, my energy and present the sound I love.

What message does the music you play convey?

My music definitely brings fresh energy and good vibes. All I wanna give to the people who are listening to my sets is to let them forget about their jobs, their problems, their bad decisions ... just to BE and feel alive.

How is the mix reflecting your current music taste?

In this mix, I used my current taste and the sound that I like the most right now. A lot of the music I play is really inspired by the 2000s, but it has a current flavor.

Who should release a new album/EP already?

My girlfriend is a singer and she should release her debut EP this year, which I'm really looking forward to :)

What is magical about music?

Connecting and knowing the vibes between people. And what I love about music the most is that I'm able to escape from reality.

What is your main source for finding new music?

Streaming services, Bandcamp, Social Media

If the mix was a soundtrack, what (kind of) movie/video/audio-visual content would support it best?

It would definitely be some hip-hop movie from the 90s, like Paid in Full. :D
