A special guest-mix series where DJs are invited to create a soundtrack for tomorrow's days. Next up: Glasgow-born jazz singer turned DJ, molly.
Molly plays jazz, jazz-house and funk with eclectic selections from both sides of the Channel. She is known for her monthly Operator Radio show I KNOW NOTHING ABOUT JAZZ on Operator Radio, which spotlighted local music from a different Dutch city each month and featured conversations with local musicians. The show is currently on pause while she focuses on philosophy research into folklore and phenomenology.

Every Mixed Feelings podcast is accompanied by a few questions that provide a little insight into the DJ and the mix they've prepared for us and for you.
Which feelings do we find bottled in this mix?
Joy, euphoria, a bit of fear... I definitely feel like I am running towards something but also away.
What message does the music you play convey?
There is not much of a message. I trust my instinct and just feel out which form a playlist is going to take. I am not telling any stories, just moving with what works. I think if I would start to overthink it whatever magic is there for me would just die. I don't like quantifying experiences too much. If the music slaps just let it slap... I don't want to reduce it to a chord progression or funky bass line.
How is the mix reflecting your current music taste?
The mix is pure escapism. Right now, I run from music that makes me sit in the moment. The moment is too bleak. So, of course, my favourite dutch music of the year is music that gets me moving and bouncing into a happier and more positive present.
Who should release a new album/EP already?
RADIOHOP. It has only been a year but I need more tunes like BIRTHDAY BOY asap.
What's magical about music?
The authority that it has over atmosphere. A room can smell awful and look a mess but if the tunes are good then somehow everything is okay.
What is your main source for finding new music?
Bandcamp.
If the mix would be a soundtrack, what (kind of) movie/video/audio-visual content would support it best?
Builders dancing while they work on site.
