Which feelings do we find bottled in this mix?
A blend of giddy intoxication from lust, betrayal and love. Sex comes in many forms and that's what's so titillating about it. This is NSFW!
What message does the music you play convey?
It's a battle between the sheets of hard to get and lust for love. How the act of courtship and sex can be a play between performative, animalistic and ecstatic. Throughout the decades and genres, we see all these elements rearing their sexy head into the tracks we love.
How is the mix reflecting your current music taste?
Shady Lady's sets are normally a funk-infused mix of delusional disco, erect-to-the-ear 80's grooves and horny-ass house. There's always an element of the known and the unknown in her tracks and a point to keep it ironic because we should never take life too seriously. Seriously.
Who should release a new album/EP already?
Is it sad if I say Loleatta Holloway or Sylvester?
What's magical about music?
I've never been the best conversationalist but the way I can communicate is through music. Whether it be through dancing, lip-syncing, or DJing, it's as if I become possessed by the vocalists and instruments. I'm merely a conduit for the tunes. I feel the most human when I'm listening to music and now you must be querying whether I'm human at all.
