PREMIERE: Sean McCabe & Karmasound - 'Can't Let It Go'

The Bristol-based producer Sean McCabe teams up with Barcelona-based producer Karmasound for the collaborative soul-drenched 3-track broken beat burner 'A New Day'.

Karmasound is originally from Argentina and currently resides in Barcelona, Spain. His South American roots surely had an effect on his latin-infused brand of broken beat. When his debut album La Búsqueda dropped in 2020, he instantly turned some heads. His undeniable grooves, warm chords and surprising rhythmic changes add a fresh flavour to the currently cooking global melting pot of bruk.

Bristol’s very own soulful house don Sean McCabe has established quite a name for himself as a solid producer and DJ in the past 10 years. He's released music with labels like Z Records, Boogie Cafe, Last Forever, Strictly Rhythm and his own imprint, Good Vibrations. As much as he's widely known for his deep 4-to-the-floor cuts, Sean loves to dabble around with broken beat patterns as well. The cut 'Finally' from his debut album It's Time illustrated this perfectly.

The two join forces and the forthcoming collaborative effort will be released on the Bristol, UK-based label Phuture Shock Musik. It's also not the first time these two names appear on the same release. Sean McCabe had remixed Karmasounds' track 'Can See Thu You' in 2019 and got great response from various corners across the globe.

The launch party of that single happened in 2018 and that was also the first time Karmasound went to the UK to play a club set. It was after the gig that he stayed in the city and a jam session at Sean's house happened that sparked the start of 'A New Day'. The sketches of the 3 tracks were laid down right then and there in just a few hours. The other layers, such as the vocal features by Erik Rico and Mabreezee were done more recently. 'Can't Let It Go' is the second track on the EP and also the only instrumental on there (if we don't count the soft whispers near the end). It captures a more laid back and summery vibe, filled with soft synths, lush pads & carefully placed shakers to vibe out to.

The full A New Day EP will be released on August 20th via Phuture Shock Musik.
